We’re Not Homophobes: No Really We’re Not!
Christians don’t FEAR homosexuals. Christians simply consider them to be practicing sin. If indeed that opinion is considered a phobia-then Christians would also be Adultererphobes- Fornicatorphobes, Idolaterphobes-Murdererphobes-Liarphobes-Thiefphobes-Gluttonophobes-Incestphobes ad infinitum.
Which shows just how ridiculous that accusation really is.—BTW…Not wanting to intimately associate with any of the above-mentioned persons does not constitute a phobia. It is merely a preventive measure in harmony with the Bible’s counsel to avoid bad associations that can do a Christian serious spiritual damage. 1 Cor. 15:33 “bad association spoils useful habits”.
There is a proverb illustrates the consequences of ignoring that advice: It says: “Tell me who you associate with and I will tell you who you are!” In short, if your best friend is a murderer, thief, habital liar, wife beater, pedophile-then it’s very likely that you approve of these things. If you initially don’t-then your are in danger of having the Devil use your friend to convince you otherwise.—Radrook

- I think that one of the problems is that of what we see being exalted in the world and the media. Right now this what it is. I don’t see marches for liars & gossips rights. We aren’t being accused of being gluttonophobes by the world. This situation is a product of the sexocentric culture in which we live. Also, when your identity is based on your actions, when those actions are either challenged or said to be immoral, the reactions fly. The media is in a tizzy over what Gen. Pace said a few days ago. People just don’t identify themselves as liars, gluttons or gossips, so the reactions to these sins are not the same.
